We all bear some responsibility for preserving and improving the over 200 year old fabric that binds together this United States of America. We have created a foundation of roads, transportation, safety, and community systems that guide the way we live each day.
These systems have held up well and worked to facilitate life as we know it. They allow us to move around our cites, states, and the country as a whole. They provide us with the shelters that house our families, workplaces, educational facilities, and religious institutions. They are historical gateways to our past, preserving the lessons and progress that we have experienced. They are the beacons to our future signaling the need for attention and care so that we can continue to flourish.
We have built a foundation in this country that shoulders our comings and goings. A foundation in desperate need of a little more than band aid maintenance. We need structural overhauls and updates to help us continue to grow our communities, our population, our nation.
So with this acknowledgement on the needs of our infrastructure we look forward to playing a role in the re-strengthening of our communities, the reinforcement of the systems that help them work, and the retooling of our workforce to create a stronger economy.
